'The Idea of the Beautiful' through the
seventeenth century.
Open until June
26 one of the most important exhibitions of the Jubilee
on the path traced by the historian, Giovan Pietro Bellori
(1613-1696) in his work " Idea del Bello" ("Idea of the
Beautiful").
The exhibition, with its seven hundred works of art
(paintings, drawings, sculptures, engravings, gems and
cameos), winds through the Roman Baroque from the masterpieces
that Annibale Carracci painted for Palazzo Farnese, now
seat of the French Embassy, to the works of Domenichino,
Caravaggio and Guido Reni, to whom an entire hall is dedicated.
