EXHIBITION OF TOURISM AND POPULAR TRADITIONS

"A hundred museums: recovered identities, the story of what we are"

T he exhibition offers a complete view of the Italian cultural heritage. One hundred museums exhibit the best of their collections and explain how the latter were created

In the beautiful setting of Castel Sant'Angelo over the Tiber river in Rome we will be able to admire the archeological and numismatic collections of the Milan Archeological Museum, and the collections of the Natural Science museums of Ferrara and Verona.  

The literary museum is represented by the Lecco Manzoni Museum and the final 1840 edition of the "Promessi Sposi" edited by the author himself who chose the paper, the fonts and did the proofreading. The city of Rome exhibits two famous masterpieces from the historical Sacchetti collection: the "Holy Family and Saints" by Ludovico Carracci and" John the Baptist" by Guercino.

We may also view precious Chinese and Japanese objects and important works of contemporary artists such as Depero, Fattori, Ballaro and Sassu.

The Exhibition aims at giving a varied view also as regards epochs, materials and cultural realities.

Open to May 3, National Museum of Castel Sant'Angelo, Rome. Closed on Mondays. Tuesday to Sunday 9a.m. - 8p.m.
