RED BRIGADE TERRORIST ARRESTED IN CORSICAWanted for the kidnapping and murder of Christian Democrat Aldo Moro since 1978Alvaro Lojacono, member of the commando squad that captured Moro and killed his security guards, and convicted on charges of kidnapping and murder and sentenced to life prison in absentia in 1997, was arrested last Friday on a beach in Corsica. Police in Bastia arrested Lojacono while he was staying with his mother and girlfriend in the former's villa. So far Lojacono has escaped imprisonment in Italy by hiding in Switzerland where Italy's extradition requests have always been rejected. Italy has now filed an extradition request with the French authorities. At present, none of the 13 terrorists charged of Moro's kidnapping and murder is a full time prisoner. Even former Red Brigade leader Mario Moretti, sentenced to live imprisonment, is on a prison leave programme.
