BONINO FOR PRESIDENT
American-style campaign for Radical Party's Emma Bonino.
The nomination of Emma Bonino for President breaks the mold of Italian politics. Bonino is currently European Commissioner for Food and Consumer Welfare.
While the two wings of the political spectrum are still opening hostilities, and have not yet said who their candidates will be in the election to be held June 13th, a citizens' committee is collecting signatures to elect Bonino "from the bottom up."
Emma Bonino is well-known in Italy for her radical campaigns in favor of divorce, her pro-abortion stance, and her fight for justice which she fought before going to Brussels. P>
Bonino's candidacy is now supported by a large number of individual politicians, glitterati, and people from the fashion world, in a campaign which could defeat the machinations of both political persuasions.
The President is elected by both Chambers of Parliament sitting together,
together with three representatives from each of the twenty Italian
regions.
