WEEK OF STRIKES IN TRANSPORT SECTOR
Government may have to act against train and flight control staff
The week began badly for travelers, with a strike which paralyzed Milan's two airports Monday 22nd.
Trains Yesterday the strike by station masters belonging to the UCS labor union created difficulties for train passengers. But this will be nothing compared with what is expected on Friday 26th, when workers in almost all unions will strike from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Planes Flight
controllers will strike at Venice airport on
Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The same thing
will happen at Catania airport from 12 to 4
p.m.[Both just
cancelled]
On Saturday there will be
an all-out strike throughout Italy by air
staff.[Also
cancelled]
Given the concentration of industrial actions during the week, the Transport Minister may decide to postpone some of these strikes in accordance with an agreement signed December 23rd last year by all unionists taking part in the current wave of demonstrations.
