TERRORISM RETURNS WITH SLAUGHTER OF GOVERNMENT ADVISER
Red Brigades claim responsibility for death of Massimo D'Antona
Thursday May 20th, 8:30 a.m., Via Salaria in Rome. Three shots from a .38 caliber pistol with silencer hit attorney Massimo D'Antona, who is going to his office. A murder planned in detail with the escape of the hit men on a motorbike.
Massimo D'Antona, the man who did more than anyone else to modernize Italian labor law, lies dead on the ground, on the anniversary of the signing of the workers' charter (29 years ago).
Later the same day the terrorists planted a 28-page document claiming responsibility for the attack, giving a highly detailed analysis of the Italian political and union situation.
The police said the brains behind the hit were intellectuals who knew the labor union situation very well, as "insiders." It also promised a "red spring" which does not augur well for Italian civility and democracy.
